A well-established, boutique estate and elder law firm in Manchester, Missouri is seeking a Bookkeeper to join its close-knit team. This is a permanent, onsite position supporting the financial and administrative operations of a highly respected law practice serving an elderly client population.

Position Overview

The Bookkeeper will handle routine daily and monthly financial tasks and support office operations. While there is a dedicated Receptionist, all staff assist with answering phones as needed to ensure excellent client service. This role does not involve billing, time entry, or tax preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scanning, processing, and distributing incoming mail
  • Processing payments and performing reconciliations
  • Preparing routine financial and operational reports
  • Supporting accounts receivable-related tasks
  • Answering phones as needed and assisting clients and colleagues
  • Working in QuickBooks and legal practice management systems (training provided)
  • Supporting ongoing daily and monthly bookkeeping processes

  • TABS
  • Credit card processing system (user-friendly; training provided)

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Prior bookkeeping or accounts receivable experience preferred
  • Comfortable learning new systems and following established routines
  • Personable, kind, and professional demeanor
  • Enjoys working with and supporting elderly clients
  • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
  • No tax expertise or legal billing experience required

Work Schedule & Environment

  • Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM; Fridays, 8:30 AM-3:00 PM
  • Workweek: 37.5 hours
  • Work Model: 100% onsite
  • The firm is flexible when life happens and does not micromanage time, as long as work is completed. However, in-person presence is essential due to frequent client signing meetings.

Accessibility Note

The office is located on an upper level accessible by stairs.

  • Salary: Approximately $50,000 annually, depending on experience

Start Date
